Welcome to Busted Plumbing!

Under Construction, please check back later!

My Rough Estimation of a Timeline:
  • August 1999 (age 19):  Began dating the most awesome man ever.  Decided to date Adam instead.  (Just kidding! Just kidding, of course Adam is most awesome man ever.)
  • December 2001:  Got engaged, graduated with bachelor's degree.
  • April 2003:  Got married.
  • May 2005:  Graduated with Masters degree, got the grown-up job, went off birth control, hmmm... what comes next?
  • November 2005:  Haven't had period in 6 months, but every pregnancy test is negative... WTF?
  • December 2005:  Full blown freak out, Why am I not preggo?? Where did my periods go??  See my OBGYN, who does an ultrasound and give diagonsis of Polycycstic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).  Prescribes Metformin.
  • 2006:  Periods return, sort of, thanks to Metformin.  Still not pregnant.  Change OBGYNs.  Prescribed Clomid towards end of year.
  • January 2007:  First positive pregnancy test.  Miscarry at approximately 6 weeks, before even my OBGYN will see me.  OBGYN tells me not to worry, happens all the time.  Decided to take a break from TTC (trying to concieve)
  • December 2007:  First month back on Clomid, get my second BFP.  See the doctor, confirmed by blood test.  Given my "Newly Preggo" packet by the nurse practioner... get really excited! Tell EVERYONE the great news!!!  At approximately 7 weeks (right before Christmas), experience massive bleeding.  Adam rushes me to the hospital, where a miscarriage is confirmed.
  • February 2008:  First month back on Clomid after miscarriage, get third BFP.  Maybe finally my turn?
  • March 2008:  Turning 28, what better time to tell everyone that I'm preggo than my birthday?  Finally start to get my hopes up again.  At 8 weeks, am told my HCG levels have dropped and I will most likely miscarry.  Shortly after, experience massive bleeding and extreme pain... Adam takes me to the emergency room where miscarriage and burst cyst is confirmed.  Decide to take a break again.
  • March 2009:  First appointment with Reproductive Endochronologist (RE, aka "fertility specialist", aka "Dr. H").  Confirms again ovaries are full of cysts.  Runs lots of tests on me (Adam gets off light since he's knocked me up three times now).  Prescribed higher dose of Clomid.
  • June 2009:  Fourth BFP.  Dr. H confirms two eggs, so possiblity of twins.  Try not to get my hopes up this time, however HCG is doubling normally... Dr. H seems happy with how things are going... maybe this is finally our shot?
  • July 2009:  Eight-week ultrasound, we finally get to see the baby's heartbeat.  Dr. H finds two gestational sacs, however no heartbeat found in either one.  Orders more blood tests.  Following week, HCG found to be increasing but not as rapidly as needed.  Second ultrasound confirms no heartbeats, and one sac is beginning to mutate.  Advised I will miscarry.
  • August 2009:  HCG still rising, a D&C is performed.  Dr. H says its possibly a molar pregnancy, but pathology is inconclusive as to cause of miscarriage.
  • September 2009: HCG returns to zero, we're cleared to start TTC again.
  • March 2010:  I'll turn 30!  Any shot of getting preggo by then?

Oh, wow! You've been through A LOT. My SIL had PCOS {well, still has} during the time when it was realitively unknown. Finally found a doctor who properly diagnosed her. He knew what he was doing, because she was able to have 5 kids. I think there's always hope and prayers.

I wish you all the best!
